Hi and welcome to my Blog....

I am sure it will soon become evident that I am no literary master of words, though I hope to share some of my thoughts and experiences whilst I am out and about as a photographer.

These may be in the form of an account of a commissioned assignment or a stock photographing trip or personal project, or even some straight forward views on workshops I have attended.
Whilst I can claim to have accumulated a good deal of experience as a photographer, I am always on the look out for new stuff to learn and don't ever feel I know it all.

Death along the East Head shore line

I rediscovered East Head during a recent portrait commission, and wanted to return there with my wife and explore the strand line and see what developed.

These ten images were captured during that walk yesterday, quite randomly and without any preconception of any narration.

They are not a true representation of the conditions, the place or the time, though the images were taken on the day at that place and are of what we found there.

It is a fiction composed by series, the narration added later in the way the images were treated in post production and an order which they are presented here.

Taken in isolation some have very little latent narrative content or connotation, others contain more.

There were hundred of boats in the harbour, yet one is pictured in isolation.

Was the dog chasing it's own tail?

The child riding on his father's shoulders looks back, his attention drawn to what ?

What killed the rabbit amongst the Samphire, and just ate the haunch? That was a real mystery.
