Hi and welcome to my Blog....

I am sure it will soon become evident that I am no literary master of words, though I hope to share some of my thoughts and experiences whilst I am out and about as a photographer.

These may be in the form of an account of a commissioned assignment or a stock photographing trip or personal project, or even some straight forward views on workshops I have attended.
Whilst I can claim to have accumulated a good deal of experience as a photographer, I am always on the look out for new stuff to learn and don't ever feel I know it all.

Son of Kirk

These are a few images from a portrait session I undertook the other day for a lovely young couple of their son.

Both parents understood what was required and threw themselves into it whole heartedly, their little boy was an absolute delight.  Bringing with him his Blue toy dog "Dum Dum" was inspirational. I enjoyed capturing the interaction between a small child and his favourite toys.

We are now thinking about a conceptual work for next spring when we will look at a famous child portrait by the Pre-Raphaelite painter, 'John Everett Millais' as a starting point, but adding a contemporary twist.

I was like him once, (well I'd like to think so anyway)...

his buddy, Mr Spudy!

Testimonial from his Father:
Art provided fantastic photos, a great service and has a real passion for his work. He was amazing with our 2 year old and managed to capture the spark that makes our son who he is. Art's commercial work is equally inspiring and will definitely be using for future commissions. thanks Art, thoroughly recommed. October 21, 2010
