Of course, most of the little I know about RAW is either out of a book or off the Web and my knowledge of workflow management was only what I have picked up along the way, exploring Raw Shooter (remember that one) Phase One, Camera Raw, Aperture and Lightroom so I was keen to see what Anton had for me.
I arrived to find Paul and Anthony and the news that there was to be only one other participant, as Paul was the SWPP organiser he said he didn't count, and so there were just the three of us when Adam arrived. Paul told us that Anton was currently lost inside a SatNav Triangle at another Red Lion Hotel a few miles away so he proceeded to talk him in whilst we went in search of caffeine.
You may think this a poor start but far from being a morning to regret, Anton did indeed find us and after profound apologies, he got straight down to business.
A very personable young man, he made what could have been a very dull and bland subject interesting and illustrated his talk well with a clear, confident and well structured delivery and with only a few images necessary, talking about the strengths and weaknesses of the different softwares and add ons, graphics tablets, the importance of back up and storage.
Recapping the information and engaging us in the dialogue and debate, answering our questions with empathy and sincerity. Yes, OK, so he did only have an audience of three, but I felt that he would have delivered the same were we 20 and 3.
Although, extremely regrettable, I was only able to attend the morning session, I came away feeling that my time had been worthwhile, and would attend more of the same quite willingly.
Thanks to Paul for putting together such an excellent opportunity, just a pity that more didn't take advantage of such a good opportunity to access good quality information.
